
Theodor Seuss Geisel ( March 2 1904 – 24 September 1991 ) was a writer and cartoonist United States , better known by his pseudonym Dr. Seuss.
He has published over 60 books for children, which were often characterized by an extraordinary fantasy characters, from frequent use of rhyme and meter trisyllabic . Among his achievements we can mention the most famous green eggs and ham (Green Eggs and Ham), The Cat in the Hat (The Cat in the Hat), and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. The Grinch is often cited as the best work of the writer. His work has been adapted numerous times in eleven television specials, three feature films and a musical Broadway .
Geisel also worked as an illustrator for advertising campaigns, in particular flit and Standard Oil , and as a political cartoonist for a magazine in New York . During World War II , he joined the army to work in an animation department of the Air Force , where he wrote a film that later won the Oscar 1947 for best documentary.
Geisel’s works have been estimated at $ 350 million.
